The Holiday Season

The Holiday Season

July finally sees the start of summer – albeit with rain and thunderstorms! Schools are breaking up and parents are frazzled finding activities to keep them occupied.

For us we are in the middle of childcare chaos. Having decided on part time nursery and part time nanny for our toddler and baby (that was a struggle in itself!), we started arranging our holidays, settling in visits and everything else only to have the nanny pull out! Thankfully we are using a nanny provider so we weren’t employing her directly and she hadn’t met the boys so can’t blame them. Her reason? She decided that after doing a degree in childcare and working in a nursery all time she actually wanted to be a personal trainer.

Positives – didn’t start and form a bond with my children.

Negatives – we don’t have childcare and the holiday we had planned to co-incide with her starting etc etc actually is now in a very inconvenient time!

I have a huge amount of admiration for someone that changes their career after investing in the first one, and I am so thankful she hadn’t started, but seriously! It’s making me reconsider leaving the little ones. Such a difficult choice and decision which leaves you at someone else mercy.

Okay, so that’s July so far. 6 days in. What else can go wrong?!

In other news Baby Case is going from strength to strength. Following a Facebook campaign with Milton Sterilising and having been shortlisted for awards in the innovation for travel categories at both the Loved by Parents awards and Mumii Baby & Toddler Awards we have a steady stream of bags going out the door.

In addition we have new products being designed as we speak which we are hoping to launch at the Baby & Toddler show at Sandown in September, and a new website due for launch at the end of July. To stay updated sign up for our newsletter 🙂

Enjoy the sun – but make sure you wear sun cream, especially those little ones xx
